Build Your Business Using the Power of Belief

Posted on December 29th, 2008 by Sandy Reed

As we were Christmas shopping recently, I noticed how full the parking lot was at the local shopping mall.  The world would have us believe that there is no hope for our current business economy.  They would have us believe that it’s going to get much worse before it gets better.  All you have to do is pick up a newspaper or watch the news on television to know that this is so.  But is this really true?

What if you lived in a world in which there was no television or newspapers?  Would your life be any different?  Would you still look to the world outside to decide how you are supposed to approach your life and your business every day?  Or would you do what you needed to do to ensure your business was strong and healthy, and expect that to be the truth?

In Observance of World Healing Day – Hope for a Hurting World

Posted on December 19th, 2008 by Sandy Reed

I recently read an interview in Science of Mind magazine with John Randolph Price written by Linda Potter, the managing editor of The Healing Path magazine.  If you are not familiar with John Randolph Price, he is the author of The Abundance Book, which is now in its sixteenth printing and has been studied all over the world for more than 20 years.

John was inspired to begin the movement, which is now called World Healing Day, in 1983, while on his way home from a workshop.  This is another powerful example of what one person can do.  John and his wife, Jan, made the decision that the first world healing day would begin December 31, 1986, Greenwich Mean Time. They picked this time zone because it would encompass all time zones within a 24 hour period.  On this day, healing meditations were to take place all over the world.

Business’s Big Brother is Watching You…

Posted on December 11th, 2008 by Sandy Reed

There have been articles all over the news lately about the banking and car industries being rescued by the government.  If you’re like me, you’ve wished a few times you could get access to some of the rescue dollars too!  But beware, that money is coming at a high price…

The auto manufacturers now have a “Car Czar” which will no doubt have a very large say so in how their businesses are run.  I don’t know about you, but the primary reason I’m in my own business is because I have the freedom and ability to grow it as I see fit.  So, I think I’ll give up the thoughts about being magically taken care of by the government.

How about you?

Boost Your Business with Reality – or Happiness?

Posted on December 5th, 2008 by Sandy Reed

Here are some business headlines in the news lately.

“Today’s Number 53,000 – this is the number of jobs Citigroup plans to cut (about 20% of its work force) – the second-most on record”

“IBM Cutting 60,000 jobs”

“WaMu to cut 335 jobs”

It’s getting to the point that I don’t even want to pick up the paper in the morning.  The only good thing about the news is how glad I am about being in my own family business…

The Power of One Woman

Posted on December 3rd, 2008 by Sandy Reed

I never tire of hearing about how women have risen from less than ideal circumstances to fulfill their purpose in the world.  Here’s one such story that I read in Daily Guideposts.

In the 1850’s a woman named Harriet was born to a poor preacher and his wife.  Harriett grew up and married another preacher, who was even poorer, causing them to struggle to care for their seven children.
